Hand-painted and researched map of the Africa written in the scripts of each country, such that Algeria is written in Arabic, for instance. Many countries have multiple official languages, such as South Africa, in which instances I chose the dominant language or that which is most often employed by official or elite institutions. The flags of the 6 largest countries in Africa border the title (Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, DRC, Tanzania, and South Africa).
High-quality giclee print available at various sizes. The actual detail is greater than in the photos, which have been compressed. This piece took roughly two weeks to research, draft, and paint.
